Health & Safety

Sure General Contractors Inc. is committed to the health, safety, and welfare of all employees,

other persons engaged in work for the organization, and any third parties who are in direct contact with our business practices. We expect all personnel working on-site to adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Our employees are expected to perform their duties and responsibilities in the safest manner possible.

We firmly believe that safety takes top priority and expect all involved to work closely together in order to maintain a safe working environment.

Our objective is to prevent workplace accidents and injuries through extensive staff training on
safety protocols and cooperation of all parties involved.

The goal is “zero” incidents/accidents/injuries and is based on the following principles:

- Safety is the first consideration in everything we do.

- Everyone has the right to a safe environment.

- Everyone is responsible for their own safety and the safety of their co-workers.

- Identification and mitigation of risk are everyone’s responsibility.

- All incidents are preventable.

- All staff must be involved in and supportive of the Health and Safety Program and training.

- Working safely is a condition of employment.

It is the responsibility of each and every employee, irrespective of position, to work in a safe manner at all times and to immediately report all unsafe or unhealthy conditions observed so that these conditions, and the factors that contribute to them, can be eliminated from our work environment.

Similarly, it is the responsibility of all supervisory and management personnel to effectively

address safety issues brought to their attention by an employee, and to make every effort to achieve and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all. This policy will be communicated to every employee, including any subcontractor companies under our employ.

The safety of our workforce shall not be compromised, and unacceptable performance of health and safety duties will not be tolerated.  Those who do not comply with our safety policy or any other safety requirement may be subject to disciplinary action. Through constant vigilance and diligence, we can and will prevent injury and minimize illness among our fellow staff members.
